OFFICER BIOGRAPHIES
Andrea Mosqueda, President
My name is Andrea Mosqueda, and I am the co-med school conference coordinator for PMSA. I am going in my third year at the University of Chicago. I live in Chicago about twenty minutes from school, but my whole mom’s side of the family lives in Guanajuato, Mexico (we try to visit my relatives in Mexico every year). I love Chicago; I think it is a great city full of amazing restaurants and exciting things to do. I love walking around downtown on any given day, warm or cold it doesn’t really matter. I also really enjoy traveling, which is mostly done with my family. My family and friends are amazing, both are definitely a big part of my life – they are so fun, I love them! I am majoring in psychology because I find it interesting. I don’t know the specific kind of doctor that I want to be, but I’ll figure it out in time. I enjoy many different things, and I like to have fun. What can I say, I enjoy a good time.

Andrea Mosqueda, Study Breaks/De-Stress Fests Coordinator
My name is Andrea Mosqueda, and I am the study-break coordinator for PMSA. I am going into my second year at the University of Chicago. I live in Chicago about twenty minutes from school, but my whole mom’s side of the family lives in Guanajuato, Mexico (we try to visit my relatives in Mexico every year). I love Chicago; I think it is a great city full of amazing restaurants and exciting things to do. I am also a big fan of restaurants; when some of my high school friends are home, we enjoy going to a different restaurant each month. I also really enjoy traveling, which is mostly done with my family. My family and friends are amazing, both are definitely a big part of my life – they are so fun, I love them! I am majoring in Psychology, and I am hoping to become some sort of surgeon. I don’t know the particular kind of surgeon that I want to be, but I’ll figure it out in time. Although I do think school is very important, I also like having fun. What can I say, I enjoy a good time.

Amber May, MCAT Coordinator, Med School Conference Coordinator
As your MCAT Coordinator, I have researched the various MCAT test preps in order to provide you with the best possible program to fit the unique needs of UC pre-meds for an affordable price. Contact me with any questions or issues regarding the Kaplan MCAT class and please give me feedback after you have completed the course.
As your Study Coordinator, I intend to facilitate pre-meds studying together for classes and the MCATs. Additionally, I’m in the midst of creating a mentorship program between upper and lowerclassmen, as well as between pre-meds and medical students. This program should help pre-meds gain wisdom and foresight into the medical path. Having personally sought out medical student mentors, I am confident in the valuable perspective they can provide. The BSLC is shared between undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, providing pre-meds with a very tangible resource.
On a more personal note, I am a 4th year biology major with an interest in neuroscience, and plans to enter medical school in fall of 2007. For the past seven years, volunteering at hospitals and shadowing physicians has repeatedly affirmed my desire to become a doctor. My most exciting position was volunteering as a Surgical Assistant, standing alongside surgeons while they explained the intricacies of the operations they were performing. I’ve also done research in a pathology lab and dabbled in Asthma/COPD studies at the UC Hospital. It’s thrilling to see concepts learned in the classroom applied in a concrete form.
Beyond medicine… My passions include working as a private tutor, studying the Classics (I’m Treasurer of the Classical Entertainment Society), writing, theatre, opera, piano, rollerblading along Lake Michigan, traveling the world, and pursuit of aesthetics and truth. E-mail:

Danny Del Campo , Panels Coordinator
Hi, my name is Danny, 3rd year premed student studying Music and Biology. Although unusual for a premed to study music, this has been one of my first loves. I started to play piano as a young child, and eventually grew my instrumental ability for guitar, trumpet, drums, singing, harmonica, and a few others. I compose music constantly and can be frequently found all over Chicago. Thus, studying Music creates a balance of the abstract to the factual in the study of Biology. Through participating with Bike and Build (www.bikeandbuild.org), I have cycled across the US and helped to build homes with Habitat for Humanity. Through creating presentations in every town we visited, I learned the value of hearing different points of view within discussion events. It is with this mindset that I am determined as the Panels Coordinator to bring interesting presenters with unique perspectives. Much can be learned if we have the patience to listen to others – this is my standpoint, and one that the PMSA discussion events are sure to follow.
